لما طال اعتقال الشاب ذي الـ 17 عاما وطن ثامر سباعنة ابن كاتب موقع السكة الإخباري لشؤون الأسرى والمعتقلين من قبل أجهزة أمن السلطة الفلسطينية دون ذنب أو قيد أو أنشطة مخالفة إذ لم تسجَّل بحقه إفادة فقد تقدم والده ثامر سباعنة بمناشدةٍ لمنظمات دولية علّها تساعده في تخليص ابنه من براثن أجهزة أمن السلطة التي اعتقلت الشاب دون ذنب ، ولم تقم بتحويله إلى محكمة ، وليس بحقه جناية تستلزم التنفيذ ، وسنقوم بنشر هذه المناشدة كما وصلتنا .

Subject: The Political Detention of the Minor Watan Thamer Sabaaneh
I am the legal guardian of the minor Watan Thamer Sabaaneh from the town of Qabatiya, Jenin District
Watan was born on April 27, 2007
He is a high school student and is scheduled to take his final exams in the coming days
The Palestinian Intelligence Service abducted my son Watan from the street without presenting any identification or proof that they belonged to a security agency
Watan was deprived of taking his trial exams, noting that this academic year (Tawjihi, or General Secondary Education Certificate) is of great importance for the future of any Palestinian youth
We cannot ignore the psychological state and the immense stress Watan is currently experiencing, whether due to the arrest itself, the place of detention, or the pressure of the Tawjihi exams
They kidnapped him and transferred him to the Palestinian Intelligence headquarters in Jenin without notifying us of his abduction or his whereabouts
Since his arrest and up to the time of sending this letter, Watan has not been presented to any legal authority or court
He is still being held at the Palestinian Intelligence headquarters in Jenin and has not been transferred to a juvenile facility or any legal holding location
The current situation Watan is enduring violates Paragraph 1 of Article 11 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, issued in 1948
What my son Watan is experiencing now in the PA prisons is a clear violation of all humanitarian laws that protect the rights of children and to which the Palestinian Authority is a signatory
As of the writing of this letter, the General Intelligence Service refuses to allow Watan’s lawyer to visit him or permit him to contact his family
Watan’s continued detention violates Palestinian law and disregards human and child rights

I present to you the above observations and facts, hoping you will work to end this suffering for our entire family. Every member of our family is going through a difficult psychological situation, overwhelmed by fear, anticipation, and concern over the fate of our son Watan—on top of our fears for his academic future and mental health
